The hero of Wild Pear, a graduate of Sinan's pedagogy, returns to his native Çan in northwestern Turkey before the last exams. As a stranger from a larger city, he looks with reluctance, but also indulgence, at the provincial community he left years ago. However, gradually life in Çan engages him more and more, and dreams of success and the dreamer's career are proving difficult to materialize. Saturated with the colors of the changing seasons, the film is a penetrating portrait of a multi-generational family in which nightmares are intertwined with philosophical disputes about the Koran. A dense, though seemingly minimalist, Wild Pear, he talks about the unhappy youth facing the heritage of fathers.
